How long can a tape backup data be kept unattended? - tape backup alternative

Suppose I have a bond that I use for backups and I supported my data to the tape drive. How long can I Unattended data safe?

The tapes are not store the backups safely if it is not activated. The only way to check is to make a restoration. Silently say that you do not want to see? To really be safe, you need the backup to a different location than the primary. If it is together, and from theft, fire, floods, lightning, etc., in the same situation is very risky.
