Trusts For Grandchildren Are Adopted Children Still Considered Grandchildren Of The Original Bloodline? ?

Are adopted children still considered grandchildren of the original bloodline? ? - trusts for grandchildren

The children of my brother was adopted by a family 10 years ago, and my parents just died. They left everything to a trust, which eventually dissolved and the assets distributed to all the grandchildren. The lawyer said that the adopted children, a part of the estate are entitled. Is that correct? Has anyone of legal information that I can see? Who are the grandparents who are legally in the case of adoption? Consent and trust are developed in California.
